Mr. Haymore

I think this is the best advice given all year long, but you have to be willing to listen and follow through with it. It is fairly simple advice to follow. there has been many examples that were shown this year to show us the way of the right. I don't think it would be hard to choose the right. There m,any positive things that can and will happen when you choose the right. All you gotta do is choose the right, and follow this advice through life and you should be just fine. just stick with this and you  shall succeed in life. Don't do drugs or alcohol, you may have fun, but do it responsibly. Always remember, CTR.  When you follow positivity you will gain some. When you choose the wrong. you may lose something, whether that would be dignity, respect or reputation, you lose something special in yourself. Choose the right and you will be at peace with yourself. Surround yourself with good people.

Character

If there is beauty in character,
there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home,
there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.
 Conclusion
If there is beauty in character,
there will be peace in the world.

Chinese Proverb

i believe this statement has the power to move people. It is a very powerful message. When you show no signs of evil, all will be well. Hear no evil, see no evil. there is no evil. It is fairly simple. Do unto others as you wish to be do unto yourself. Good things will come to you when you have a good heart. Don't corrupt yourself in the ways of the wicked. Take things with ease and patience. There is a kind of a domino effect within this statement. When you do one thing it affects something else, and that affects something else, and so on.

Student Success Statement

“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: self-respect, dignity(self-worth), integrity, and self-esteem.”

Dr. Laura Schlessinger

I think this is some great motivation if a person is willing to listen. I think to put it in simple high school teen words it would be, when you do good expect some good vibes. When you do right, you'll receive a reward whether it is material or not. I don't see what is so hard to understand. If you do good, then you will feel good. Positive vibes for positive actions. Negativity for negative actions, it is a simple concept that everyone should learn. No go with what you have learned and do something great. Go help a homeless person, offer some food or some water. Open some doors, pull out some chairs, say please and thank you and how do you do?, be polite, be a good person. Don't let the spoils of material rewards corrupt you. Stay on straight path towards success and greatness.

"A promise must never be broken."
Alexander Hamilton

If promises can't be broken then don't make any in the first place. It is better to be safe rather than be sorry. Nowadays, promises have become trivial and a hassle to some. How can you avoid getting out of bad spot if you swore to never break a promise to do so. I think promises are childish and shouldn't be brought up amongst adults or anyone who has a strong influence on children. I see it as a poor excuse for hate in groups of kids and teens. The matter is only made worse when adults say it. It seems like a runaround game of who's more trustworthy and trust shouldn't be based on whether some keeps promises unbroken or not.

"Goodness is the only investment that never fails."
Henry David Thoreau

I only disagree because all I know about people is the urban lifestyle and suburban lifestyle and they can't really be compared to a country/rural lifestyle. When I think of goodness, I think of  treating people with kindness and respect. Doing things like opening a door, saying please and thank you. Living in the city, you wouldn't see much goodness. Too much crime and violence and vulgarity is thrown at people in the city, and you start to wonder whether anyone would do anything out of their way to make someone else feel good.

"I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong."
Abraham Lincoln

I think this a great statement, but it depends on the situation and what they did wrong. Honestly, I'd rather help a person in the wrong to go on the path towards the right, so they quit being in the wrong. If you abandon someone solely because he goes wrong, you aren't being a good friend. for example, if someone is abusing prescription pills or using drugs I'll try to help out if I can, but I won't join them. If I see someone attempting to steal food or clothes, I'll pay for them if I could afford it, but I will not aid in a robbery. I would much rather be known as a helping hand than a person who left someone for dead.

"Character is higher than intellect."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I wouldn't agree with this if it was associated with school or the workplace. Outside of school and the workplace, you should behave differently and according to where you are. Sure if you are socializing the whole point of being a social person is to develop some kind of character, if you're boring you won't get far and won't get much friends. In school, intellect is needed to work effectively and not fail. At work, a person needs intellect to get a job and keep the job. If you are dealing with work you need intellect, nut if you are dealing with people then you need character. If you are all smarts you'll drive people away. If you're all talk you'll lose jobs. You need a balance. Have an equal amount of both social life and work life and you'll(more or less) be following through with this quote.

"I trust that my hard work will pay off."
Tyler Haws

I strongly agree with this quote. Not only does hard work pay off in sports, but it also pays off in academics and other areas of peoples' live. For example, if you work hard on an essay and turn in what you believe to be your best every time, then you may pass the class, but not only that, you may be able to make a career out of writing. If you want to shed a few pounds off you'll have to work at it. Sometimes you'll have to go that extra mile to reach your goal. I trust that if I work hard it'll pay off... eventually. Even if it isn't immediate there is a pay off to working hard in life. Strive to be a better person and go that extra mile today, for tomorrow you'll back and smile upon some greatness.

As exciting and fulfilling as the job is, I wouldn't take it because it is an emotional and mental stress so great that I don't think I'll be able to handle it. Not just operating either, going to school for 14 more years will most likely drive me up a wall. If I was more positive and optimistic, I would take the job. I would definitely do it for the salary to have a nice and stable life, but then I'd be doing it for the wrong reasons, I prefer to go into a career I love rather than be greedy and choose a job solely for economic gain.

"They're only truly great who are truly good."
Image result for George Chapman
George Chapman

I somewhat agree with this statement only because some of those who are good boast about it, so they just across bad. I believe if you are truly good, then you shouldn't brag about. If you're really good you don't have to talk about it because people will know. I don't agree that just because you have good grades or good genes means you are good, you need some self-respect and very little to no boastful ways about you. Just because you are good at something, it doesn't make you great, you need constantly hone your craft.

"Many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn't. In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is nothing worse in sports than a cheater. Don't do it"
George Mitchell,Senate Majority Leader, Presidential Medal of Freedom, Disney Chairman of the Board
I think in order for someone to understand this their moral have to be in the correct place. If you tell this to someone with bad morals it won't mean a thing. If someone does understand and they continue, then just let it go, they're only human. There is no need to attack a person because nature and years of abuse drove these people this way. You can't change, but you can hope to spark something in them that will change their mind. I agree with later half of this quote, cheating makes sports boring and repetitive. In the world of sports, there should't be a need for steroids or any or performance enhancing drugs. As long as you prevent younger generations to do same the world may be a better off in the end.

"I won't cheat."
Dale Murphy

I think it is fairly simple not to cheat in sports, just avoid doing any drugs. It's a pretty lame excuse if you're using anything, to me it just means you have no skill and should immediately be thrown out of the sport. Now cheating life is fairly simple to avoid as well, don't bribe people and don't steal or sell illegal substances. The whole idea of performance enhancing drugs is ridiculous, tests shouldn't even exist, but they do, and why, because people can't be trusted that's why. When you start using, you are a loser. You've gotta commit to being clean. Or just face being a stain on the sports world. Just another person who abuses drugs.
Psychiatrist
Duties and Responsibilities: diagnose, treat and prevent mental disorders

Salary: $166,000 - $254,000

Education: -Certification for:

Addiction psychiatry
Adolescent and child psychiatry
Pain Medicine
Sleep Medicine

Bachelor's for:

Biology

I wouldn't choose this career because I don't believe in getting money to help people with their personal problems and/or offering my money for help with my problems. It seems like a very unethical and emotionless job. It seems like the type of job for greedy people. I'm not trying to make a quick buck, but I would like to help people. I think an alternative is need in this field. Something like free screenings or test or sessions. The way psychiatry is set as a business drives me away. I don't believe in taking people's money away, and this job is just that. As long as you seem sincere, you'll get a paycheck and it is immoral.I believe it is a very dishonest job to have.

"Character matters most."
Dale Murphy

In my opinion, everyone should take this peace of advice and live by it somehow. It is a great piece of advice which challenges you as a person to choose right and wrong. It makes you a better person if you can judge yourself. I think the people that need to follow through with this advice most is athletes, celebrities or anyone in power because younger people tend to follow herds. In my opinion, charcter really does matter most, not matter what the situation.

"Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly."
Otto Graham, Jr.

I think it takes some self-esteem and an honest look at oneself to really say whether something is right or wrong. if you are able to judge right from wrong then you hold some great power, but you must be able to apply it. In an ideal world there wouldn't be a need to determine right from wrong, but sadly we don't live in one. Therefore, you must act accordingly. If you do something wring, you either fess up or, if you're "bad" just fake it 'til you make it. When you're doing right you don't have much to worry about, just keep going your merry way. There is no need to hide from doing the right thing either, it is an honorable thing to do.

"Act well your part, there all honor lies."
Alexander Pope

I believe what this statement is trying to say is simply that if you are doing the right thing then the will be positive repercussions. As long as you're doing what's right and you feel it's right then you gain positive feedback, whether from yourself or from your peers.

"Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company."
George Washington

I believe it is in bad taste to only hang around people who do good. I believe that as long you are just hanging out with a group of people there isn't anything wrong. If and when they choose to do the wrong thing then it is time to make the decision to walk away. If you only associate yourself with 'good' people you may never understand 'bad' people. Maybe there is a reason they're 'bad'. You can just disregard a group of people and just ignore because they indulge in a few questionable activities. If you truly want to be a better person, then make an effort to try to change these people. Don't be burden and judge by what you observe, take some time and talk.

"Right  is right only when entire."
Victor Hugo
Just like the woman who found the $36,000 and turned it in. If she were to give some and take some it wouldn't be right. It would only be right when she turns in the whole amount. Besides leaving guilt, there might be consequences. Another example would be when confronting homeless people. If you only give them money you aren't helping. If he/she looks hungry, then give him/her some food. Maybe offer them a night in your house with a comfortable bed and a shower and a change of clothes. The point is that if you feel like you're not doing enough, then do more. It is in your best interest to go that whole mile and not half. People will look at you in a positive light. People may even start to respect you. It is more of lifestyle to listen to these words. One or two good deeds may feel good, but in my opinion I'd feel better to stretch the good feelings to everyone.
