"The best recreation is to do good."

I agree, and what this means is when you do good you feel good. With this statement, I believe doing things like volunteering and giving to those in need would be great recreation. However, not everyone is going to agree on what is good and what isn't. Like playing music, if you are doing it for fun some will see it as a waste of a talent, but if you play for the needy you'll look good. I think the best "do-good" activity that one can partake in is being involved in the community.

Whether you're doing right or wrong there will be critics, but go your own way not their way.

One example of wrong always being wrong is when people abuse drugs and/or alcohol. When someone is abusing either of these substances they'll either hurt themselves or family and friends. When a person quits, they'll suffer side effects, reminding them of what  they have done. When you do the right thing there will be critics and some people won't like you if you do right all the time, but they'll respect you. The more you stray from wrongs, the more people will respect you.
