"President's Day"

1. What is President's Day? It is an American holiday established in 1885. Some call it Washington's birthday,and it is traditionally celebrated on the 22 of February to honor George Washington's birthday. 
2. What is the purpose of President's Day? The purpose of this holiday is to celebrate all presidents, past and present.
3. When is it? This year President's Day will be celebrated on February 15. 
4. What are several ways to show honor and respect President's Day? It can be celebrated by reenactments, staging celebrations, and in some states schools are required to focus on accomplishments and the lives of presidents. 

During the Great Depression, portraits of George Washington were put on newspapers and magazines every 22 of February , and on 1932, the Purple Heart medal was reinstated.In 1938, Boys Scouts of America held some celebrations and 5,000 people went to mass in New York to honor George Washington.
